Volunteering
Become a volunteer
Volunteering with babies and young children is not just about learning new skills, but it's also a huge amount of fun! You can make a real difference to someone's life, have something new to add to your CV, support a cause that you care about and meet new people.
Some of our partners have opportunities to volunteer with them. More details of these can be found below.
Whether you want to organise or support a local event such as a ball, quiz or coffee morning, or clap and cheer runners and riders raising vital funds for the charity, the NSPCC value your contribution to the NSPCC. Your volunteering will help them protect vulnerable children from abuse. The NSPCC recognise the importance of flexibility when it comes to volunteering locally. ECOF are looking for volunteers who want to help children make the most of the opportunities that school provides. Volunteers must make a minimum commitment to attend weekly for the duration of the programme. Time spent reading with children or playing maths games will help them develop essential skills and confidence in their learning. Seeing the same children each week develops rapport and enables volunteers to see the progress children make over time. Opportunities include:
- Story Starters
- Read to Read
- Book Buddies
- Number Starters
- Inspiring the Future
Brighter Futures is a small local charity that is passionate about the issues that matter to their clients and their families. They work hard to address social disadvantage and inequality so that every family in Jersey has a voice. Donating to charity may not always be of monetary value, you can donate in other ways by providing free services or volunteering your time. Everyone at Brighter Futures is extremely grateful for our volunteers and the time and dedication they commit. Interested? They would love to hear from you.
