Listening to babies and young children is an important part of understanding what they are feeling and what they need. It is vital in order to provide environments in which all babies young children feel confident, safe and empowered, ensuring that they have the time and space to express themselves in whatever form suits them.

This toolkit has been produced to provide guidance and support to anyone working directly with babies and young children aged 0-5, but can be used flexibly and with older children, depending on their stage of development.
