“We are hoping to increase our Side by Sessions and looking at alternative ways in which we can do this. To keep everyone updated, there is now a page on Facebook where all updates will be directly posted. It might be wroth while giving the page a like/follow and suggesting the same to your parents so they are aware of everything Side by Side related! The Facebook page can be found here à Side by Side Parent & Baby/Toddler Group with Mind Jersey | Facebook
A reminder that there is also a Parent Support Group on Facebook which can be found here à Parent Support Group with Mind Jersey | Facebook This is a really good opportunity to link in with us here at Mind as well as other parents that are local to Jersey with no pressure to participate.
Also attached is a Perinatal Peer Support information leaflet, Perinatal Peer support is when parents use their own experiences to help each other. Designed for expectant parents, new parents and parents of young children who may be experiencing difficulties with their mental health and/or emotional wellbeing. Much like our other Peer Support Services, parents will be matched with a Peer Support Volunteer who has lived experience of Maternal/Paternal mental health challenges. Our volunteers offer their time, sharing and drawing on their own experiences to support other parents on their journey, enabling parents to discover their own strengths to face these challenges more confidently. I would be more than happy to come and chat with you/your teams to talk about the service in further detail and answer any questions you might have.
Referrals for Perinatal Peer Support can made directly by clicking here à Perinatal Peer Support Referral Form Referrals can be made by any professional or the parents themselves.
We will soon be looking for more Volunteers to come and join our service and support parents along their journey. If you know of anyone that may be interested please pass on the attached PDF and my details so that they can get in touch!”
